Donald Crawford Handicap Cup – Wednesday 31st December 2025
Kilbarchan AAC’s traditional year-end challenge, the Donald Crawford Handicap Cup, takes place on Wednesday 31st December 2025. This classic 10.5-mile road race starts and finishes at Kilbarchan Public Park, with declarations from 1:00pm at Kilbarchan Scout Hall.

Race Route
- Start at the Park Gate near the Fountain (back pillar), New Street
- New Street → Church Street → Dampton Brae
- Through Crossflats crossroads to Clochoderick Stone
- Turn right (2.6 miles) and climb to Lochwinnoch/Kilmacolm Road (3.95 miles)
- Turn right toward Kilmacolm, pass Locher Woods Car Park (~5 miles), continue then descend
- Turn right onto Torr Road (~6.3 miles) toward Bridge of Weir
- At Horsewood Road (~8.2 miles), cut past Scout Hut to join the cycle track
- Exit at the Clydesdale Bank / Prieston Road junction
- Up Kilbarchan Road hill → past Tannery → Penwold bend → Shuttle Street into Kilbarchan → The Cross
- Sharp left up New Street to the far park gate, right into the park, and finish at the Fountain (~10.6 miles)
Safety note:
Run on the right-hand side (facing traffic) for most of the route.
Switch to the left on blind bends if safer.
Handicap Format
- Declarations from 1:00pm at Kilbarchan Scout Hall (Barn Green)
- Walk to the Main Street entrance to Kilbarchan Public Park after declaring
- Slowest runner starts first at 1:30pm
- First athlete home wins the Donald Crawford Cup
