Great Scottish Run Results, Sun 4 Oct 2015

An action packed day of racing began early doors at George Square as the 10k left the city centre and headed south before crossing the River Clyde and heading towards Glasgow Green. 

The first Kilbarchan runner home was Scott MacAulay setting a new PB of 32:59 to finish 9th.

Attention then turned to the half marathon with Derek and Callum Hawkins featuring heavily in the build up as they look forward to racing the Frankfurt marathon later on this month. 

Callum remained in contention throughout in the lead pack and as other runners dropped off he kept the pace up and made eventual winner Moses Kipsiro work hard for the title. Callum came home second for a big PB of 62:42 moving to third on the all time list of Scottish half marathon times. 

Derek came home in a strong 8th position running 66:24, after a 110 mile training week, the focus clearly being on returning for injury and running strongly in Frankfurt.
