Scottish Age Group Championships Report

The Scottish Age groups Championships started at Scotstoun last weekend and there were some top performances by local athletes representing Kilbarchan Athletic Club.

In the under 15 girls events, Kirsty Costello won the Hammer throwing 55.18metres, a Championship best performance and Kirsty also won the Javelin with 37.73m.

In the under 20 boys events, Cameron Wright won the 2000m steeplechase, time 6 minutes 14.12 seconds and Andrew Costello won the Hammer with 55.89metres.

There were Bronze medals for Shona Ross for the under 20 girls Triple Jump (11.80m); Ellie Fulton under 20 girls Javelin (39.67m), Kerry MacAngus under 20 girls 1500m (4.56.09) and Praise Olatoke for the under 20s 100m (10.82s). Also for Michael Cairns under 17 boys 400m Hurdles (59.95s) and for Jack Patton under 15 boys 1500metres (4.21.65).
