A number of Kilbarchan athletes competed in the annual representative match at Loughborough at the weekend.
Martin Lipton beat his own Kilbarchan club record for the 400M Hurdles, time 51.33 seconds with Connor Henderson also having a fine run, time 52.47 seconds. Anthony Young ran a speedy 48.55 seconds for the 400m and Jemma Reekie, representing GB Juniors, ran close to her best for the 3000metres, time 9.30.82. (more…)
Jemma Reekie made her GB international debut at the Loughborough International Athletics hosted at the Paula Radcliffe Athletics Stadium on Sunday. Impressive early season form saw Jemma don a GB vest for the first time (but certainly not last) and put in an good performance to finish 4th in the women’s 3000m. Read more…
The West District Track and Field Championships were staged at Kilmarnock last weekend and Kilbarchan Athletic Club had a number of successes. Gemma Rankin represented Scotland at the Lillebaert ½ Marathon in Denmark last weekend, having a fine run to finish 5th, 1st Brit, time 79 minutes 25 seconds. Kilbarchan Athletic Club’s Kirsty Costello from Elderslie, broke her own Scottish under 15 girls Hammer Record at Linwood Open Graded Meeting, last week, her Throw measured at 54.90 metres, which also puts her at the top of the British rankings.
