Good luck to both our athletes competing at this year’s internationals:

  • Amy Teasdale will represent Scotland in the Trinbago 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games in the 3000m.
  • Jemma Reekie representing GB&NI in the 800m at the World Games Budapest

  • A good run for Jack Patton in the 1500m, clocking up 3:46.29.

Scottish National League, Grangemouth, Sun 30 Jul 2023

  • Congratulation to Dawn Russell, who has again improved the Scottish U20 Javelin Record.  Dawn’s latest PB was over 48m at 48.77 and subject to ratification that will improve her own 47.96 from the 22 July.
  • 400H2 Connor Henderson 55.38; U20 HT finishing is 2nd place a PB throw for Lewis Craigie 47.63, congratulations to them both.

GAA Miler Meeting, Scotstoun, Fri 28 Jul 2023

A first-place victory for Lewis Hannigan in a PB and Club record time of 3:45.16.  Lewis has been recovering from ill health issues with diabetes.  Lewis had a firm control on his race throughout and edged away from the chasing Andrew McGill on the final lap.  Congratulations also to Alastair Street a PB and Club record. Congratulations to Jemma Reekie who toppled a world class field to take a memorable victory in the women’s 800m, a meeting record time of 1:57.30, and season’s best.

  • M 200 7 Krishawn Aiken 21.66/-0.3 (2h2 21.61/-2.9).

SA Throws Grand Prix 4, Kilmarnock, Sat 22 Jul 2023

Three of our athletes were competing at Kilmarnock, Scott Hopper with a javelin throw of 54.56 and Dawn Russell a throw of 45.50 in the javelin and a throw of 45.58 in the hammer.  U13 young Megan Cowan had a throw of 23.88.  Lewis Craigie had a hammer throw of 43.94, as it was the last Grand Prix of the season, the male Hammerama Trophy for 2023 was presented to Lewis for commitment, performance, and potential during the series.

  • Congratulations to Jemma Reekie, a PB and Club record finishing seventh in 1500m with a time of 3:58.65 becoming only the second Scot to run sub-four minutes.

NAL Premiership R2B, Woodford, Sat 15 July 2023

  • Congratulations to our two young athletes who were competing for the Glasgow Jaguars, a PB throw of 43.90m from U17 Lewis Craigie who was competing in the senior hammer throw event; finishing second U20.  A new Scottish record for Dawn Russell in the javelin U20W event with a PB and new club record throw 47.96 and finishing in second position in the U20W hammer with a throw of 41.97.

  • Scotland’s team captain Amy Teasdale 4th in the 3000 10:04.14 and 1500 7 Zara Redmond 4:43.21.

  • Joshua Mungin ran another PB and club record in the U17 800m (Event C) finishing in 1st position in a time of 1:53:16.

UK Championships, Manchester, Sat 08 Jul/Sun 09 Jul 2023

Seasons best for Jemma Reekie, taking the silver medal in the 800m with a time of 1:58.93. Qualifying time for the World Championships in Budapest.

Stephanie Twell was 4th in the 5000m time 16:09.24

In the qualify rounds: -M1006 Krishawn Aiken 10.56; M200 (ht1) 6 Krishawn Aiken 21.17/+1.5.

  • A first in the Pole Vault for Howard Bell with a height of 4.60.
