In the Boys U17 1500m age category, the Scottish 1500m Record for Indoors fell on three occasions in one day after standing for 41 years!

Team East Lothian’s Corey Campbell (George Heriots) clocked 4:00.11 only for Oliver Patton (St Columba’s School) of Kilbarchan AAC to go quicker at 3:58.78 (in a younger school’s age bracket).  Corey then won the O16 Boys final in a new Record of 3:55.90.

Very sad to report that Gerry Fairley, one of our top road runners of the 80s, 90s and 00s has passed away.  Gerry was a true Kilbarchan “Harrier” and once held the club marathon record of two hours and 24 minutes, won a gold medal in the over-40s European Championships in Athens in the 1990s.  Always featuring in the first team in the longer races, there were many stories to be told.
