1500 U15M (28 Aug)

Gold medal for Oliver Patton with a winning time of 4:18:27 in the U15M 1500 metres.

1500 U15W (28 Aug)

A silver and PB for Amy Teasdale in the U15W 1500m with a time of 4:41.81.

400 U20M (29 Aug)

A stunning run for Stephen Johnston winning Gold in a time of 48.78.

JT600 U20W (28 Aug)

Gold and Silver for Dawn Russell, with a Gold PB throw of 38.61m in the javelin and Silver PB in the HT4K U20W (29 Aug), with a throw of 43.95m.  Iris Williams was also competing in the in the HT4K U20W finishing 5th with a throw of 30.16m.

European Athletics Combined Events Challenge, Manchester, Sat 28 Aug 2021

A fine win in the Senior Men’s decathlon event for Andrew Murphy with a total of 7129 points.

Howard Bell was in sixth place in that competition with 6675 points.

Roon the Toon 2021, Troon, Sun 22 Aug 2021

A great performance from young Lewis Hannigan finishing in 3rd overall position and first U20M with a time of 30:53; and dad Scott Hannigan also competing, finishing 79th with a time of 45.00 in the V40 category.

The Manchester International takes place at the Manchester Regional Arena at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday 18 August.  This will be represented by Scotland U20 team in the U20 International which is part of the match.  Scotland U20s will compete in a junior match at the event against England, Wales, and GB U18s.

The following Kilbarchan athletes have been chosen: –

Gold, Silver and Bronze for Kilbarchan athletes at the weekend championships, congratulation to all our medal winners.: –

Dawn Russell took Golds in the Hammer and Javelin, Hammer throw of 50.31 and Javelin throw of 40.66

Eva Bell finished 5th in the Hammer competition with a throw of 40.66.

Jemma Reekie went within touching distance of the podium in her first Olympics – as she finished fourth by just nine hundredths of a second; Jemma ran a new PB of 1:56.90.

The latest IAAF World Athletics event rankings issued on 24 August with Jemma in 3rd position with 1364 points in the women’s 800m list .

EST – European Junior Championships, Tallinn Estonia, 15-18 Jul 2021

Kirsty Costello make a GB debut at the Euro U20s in Estonia this morning in the Women’s Hammer.  Kirsty threw out to 56.45 in her third round (after a foul and a 54m throw) and took 9th place in her pool, missing out on a place in the final. It is worth noting 34 athletes were involved, with only 12 to go through.

MON Wanda Diamond League, Monaco, Fri 09 Jul 2021

The Women’s 800m Diamond League was stacked with quality but the cream rose to the top as Laura Muir and Jemma Reekie went 1-2 with superb performances., Jemma finishing a close second with a run of 1.56.96.
