Kilbarchan Athletic Club had a number of athletes competing in the Scottish Age Group Championships at Grangemouth last weekend and there were some fine performances including 13 medals won.
Gold medal winners included Andrew Costello who won the under 17 mens Hammer with a Club record throw of 54.44metres and his sister Kirsty won the under 13 girls Javelin, throwing 29.09m.
There were also Gold medals won in the under 20s 1500m races, Sarah Dempsey winning the girls race in 4.37.39 and Gavin McArdle the Mens event in 3.57.17.
Silver medals were won by Jemma Reekie under 20s 800m 2.15.39, Eilidh Gibson under 15. 800m 2.22.37, Heather Fawcett under 20s Hammer 41.81m and for the boys by Jack Patton under 13 boys 1500m 4.38.12 and Andrew MacAngus under 15s 1500m in 4.29.56.
Ellie Fulton won 2 Bronze medals in under 17 girls events, Javelin 37.70m and Shot 11.22m and there were also Bronze medals for Mia Shepherd in the under 20s Hammer 41.64m and for Alisha Sivell in the under 13 girls 1500m 4.57.82m ..
Elsewhere, Gemma Rankin travelled to Dublin to compete in the prestigious Frank Duffy 10mile Road Race, finishing 2nd in the Women’s event in a fast 57 minutes 30 seconds.
