George Cumming Relays 2018 Results

See below results from the George Cumming Relays – a great day and start to the winter season with wins for Kilbarchan AAC fielding strong teams. Each athlete runs a leg of 2.7 miles with 4 men and 3 ladies in a team.

The Ladies team of Elspeth Curran, Christina Rankin and Kerry MacAngus took Gold in 44:44 well clear of Shettleston Harriers in 47:42 and Giffnock North in 49:38. The Mens team of Euan Gillham, Cameron Wright, Connor MacLean and Derek Hawkins also taking Gold ahead of strong Shettleston and Cambusland Harriers teams.

The fastest Male competitor of the day being Euan Gillham in 12:41, and for the ladies, Elspeth Curran,14:23 both Kilbarchan AAC athletes.

The event doubles up as the Renfrewshire County Relay Championship and with the men and Ladies also taking this title. The young U17 Ladies team of Alisha Sivell, Laine Alemu and Eilidh Gibson finished in 50:57 to claim  Bronze medals. The young mens team finshed 4th in the Renfrewshire competition in 55:56 Callum Matthews, Andrew MacAngus, Robbie Ferguson and Lewis Hannigan, who posted the fasted U17 time of the day.
