Jemma Reekie continued her remarkable season at theEuropean under 20s Championships in Grosetto, Italy at the weekend. Jemma, from Beith and a member of Kilbarchan Athletic Club, had earned GB selection bywinning the 1500metres and the 3000m under 20 titles at the UK trials at Bedford last month and she celebrated with a fantastic victory in the 1500metres. Jemma took the lead with 200 metres to go and accelerated away to win Gold by 20 metres, time an impressive 4 minutes 13.25 seconds.Jemma also compete in the 3000metres and she just missed a medal position finishing 4th in 9.24.81..Altogether an outstanding weekend competing against Europe’s best young athletes.

Congratulations to Kirsty Costello and David McNair who have been selected to represent Scotland at the Celtic Games in Dublin on Saturday 5th August, Kirsty in the U18 girls Hammer and David in the U16 Men 800metres.
