Hampden Park last weekend was a spectacular venue for the Scottish Schools Track and Field Championships and there were top local performances.
Jemma Reekie, who attends Garnock Academy, won the 15-17 age group 800metres in 2 minutes 11.83 seconds, a Championship best performance, as well as a Personal Best and a Kilbarchan club record,
Iona Cleer (Johnstone High School), won double Gold in the 14-15 age group, the 75m Hurdles and also the Long Jump with a fine 5,01m effort
There were also fine Gold medal winning performances from Katie Turnbull (Hutchesons GS) in the 15-17 age group 1500m steeplechase, and by Euan Gillham (Gryffe HS) in the over 17s 5000m.
