Kilbarchan Athletic Club finished 3rd in the 2nd meeting of the Scottish Men’s League at Aberdeen last Sunday.
Martin Lipton was on form, winning the 200m in 22.59s and also the 400m Hurdles in 55.06sec. Newcomer Remi Caudoux won the Javelin with an impressive 58.28metres which smashed the club best and Tony Daffurn was just outside the club record with a Triple Jump of 15.17metres.
Sam O’Kane was a big point’s winner with 2nd in the Shot, 12.31m, also 3rd in the Discus and Hammer, well supported by Andrew Cunningham with 3 places in the B event throws. Jack Lochans was 2nd in the High Jump (2.00m) and Donnie McLeod 2nd in the 400m (50.56s) while there was a notable 6.06m long jump by 16 year old Ewan Johnston,
There was also a second place for the 4x100m quartet of Tony Daffurn, Ewan Johnston, Jack Lochans and Mark Chisholm.
There were a number of good performances at the Glasgow Milers meeting on Saturday.
Hayley Haining ran the 5K in 17.02.43, as a speed session in preparation for her Commonwealth Marathon and some speedy 1500metres times with Gavin McArdle 3.56.34 and Russell Mountford 3.58.76.
On the hills, Christina Ramkin is showing form and last week travelled to Lancashire, where she was 13th, 3rd Scot, in the Intercounties Championships in Blackburn, Christina in recent weeks, has been 1st lady at the Kaim and Dumyat hill races.
