• A thirst place finish in the W800m for Jemma Reekie in a time of 1:58.73, Jemma will now go forward to the Diamond League final.

Paisley 10K & Fun Run, Paisley, Sun 18 Aug 2024

More than 4,500 people took part in the Paisley 10k and 3k Fun Run, a new record for the popular event, one of the official race starters was former Olympian Derek Hawkins.  A good number of Kilbarchan runners were out in force with Robbie Ferguson finishing in 5^th in a time of 31:34 and a fine run for Sarah Dempsey 3^rd 36:34 in the 10K.  A second-place finish for our men’s team of Robbie Ferguson, Ewan McKerral and Martin Gray, well done guys.

In the Fun Run first in the girls 8-12 was Rebecca McCulloch 12:00. The Boys AJ Campbell 2^nd 9:59,
3^rd Tyler McMeekin 10:04, and 4^th Billy McKie 10:12, well done to all who took part.

• M100m – Krishawn Aiken won in 10.43, the quickest time for several years and in the 200m Final 2 silver for Krishawn with a time of 21.19 (w3.5)

• Women’s javelin Dawn Russell was the first Senior champion crowned with an early start on Saturday in the field, with a throw of 46.45m.

• Well done to Matt McGurk and Victor McGregor on completing the 42-mile Devil O’ the Highlands foot race yesterday!  Matt finished 30th in a time of 6:29:23 and Victor finished 75th in a time of 7:58:54!

• In the Hammerama a first and PB for U13B Max Fulton 25.29, and a first and PB for F20 W40 Laura Kinder 28.02.

• The event consists of a series of 5k heats from race 1 to 5 with race 5 being the fastest.
• In race 4, Amy Teasdale had a fine run of 17:41 to finish 5th fastest female on the night.
• In race 5, Robbie Ferguson stormed to a PB of 14:48 to take the bronze with Ewan McKerral finishing in a time of 15:39.
