Press release The Monument Mile Classic, Wed 05 Jun 2024
“A double-athlete announcement. As you know here at the Classic we are just as keen to promote promising grassroots young talent along with our elite standard professional athletes
We are pleased to welcome Under 17 Kilbarchan AAC duo Joshua Mungin and Alastair Street as entries to the Monument Mile Classic!
Last month Trafford turned black and yellow as this duo set it alight with Josh running an Under 17 Scottish Record for 800m (1:49.87) and Josh winning his heat in (1:51.87). This puts them 1st and 3rd in the UK for their age group. Worth noting that Alastair is a first year under 17 meaning he has a whole another year in this age group
We are thrilled to have them entered showing the grassroots talent here in Scotland against some of the best in the world. We are sure they will once again light up the track on August 24th! ”
