  • Krishawn Aiken took third for Scotland in the Men’s 200m with 21.61/-0.2.
  • Dawn Russell had a javelin throw of 45.05.
  • Both Jack and Oliver Patton representing Scotland at Senior level for the first time; Oliver was fifth in the Men’s 3000m steeplechase in 9:26.25 while Jack clocked 4:13.03 in the Gandy Mile race.
  • 20M Scott Hopper competing for GB Juniors finished in 9th place with a throw of 58.89.

Gryffe Valley 10K, Houston Sun 19 May 2024

KAAC had a strong team of athletes in the notoriously hilly Houston 10k. To add to the hills, the temperature was around 22 degrees C.  Gold Medal to Ewan McKerral winning the race in a time of 33:49. Taking the U18 win was Ryan Knights in a time of 37:08.

The team of Ewan, Ryan Waldron (38:13), Alan Clark (38:36) and Euan McCracken (39:08) won the senior team prize!

  • Joshus Mungin and Allistair Street ran 1.49.87 and 1.51.87 respectively to win their races in the 800m and improve their personal bests by over 4 seconds.  Josh’s time within the qualifying standard for the U18 European championships and new Scottish age group record, as well as another club record.

Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May 2024, Ayrshire Arena Kilmarnock

  • Gold medals for Joshua Mungin, Dawn Russell, and Harry Muir.  Silver for Alister Street, Andrew Shorts, Clara Bain and Megan Cowan and First for Zara Redmond in the Open Championships.
  • It was a grand day out for the U17 endurance boys in the 800m with four athletes qualifying for the final with four PBs.  A new championship record was set by Josh and a new club record.  A surprise silver for Clara Bain who was unaware she had entered to the 1500m steeple chase thinking was competing in the 1500m!!
