• Congratulations to all our marathon runners.  A superb run in the men’s Eliterace for Callum Hawkins in 16^th and gold medal winner for the Scottish Championship with a time of 2:17:34.

• TCS London Mini Marathon, London, Sat 20 Apr 2024 A tremendous run from Oliver Patton the U17 title in a time of 7.27; many congratulations to Oliver, his family and coach Robert Hawkins.  In the U15B Alister Street finishing in 11^th with a time of 7:54 and U17W Amy Teasdale 4^th in a time of 8:32

Flat ‘N Fast 5K and Junior 3K, Linlithgow, Sat 20 Apr 2024

• Ryan Waldron had a strong race to run a time of 18:05!  Next up was Robert McCulloch who ran a time of 18:24!  In the Junior 3K race, Tyler McMeekin finishing 4th in the U13 male category with a time of 10:58!  Rebecca McCulloch ran a time of 13:15 with Miranda McCulloch finishing just behind in 15:12!

Forth Ultra & Team Relay, Helix Park, Falkirk, Sat 20 Apr 2024

• Congratulations to Michael McEwan who competed in the Forth Ultra Relay!  Michael and the team finished the 43-mile race in 3rd overall and one of the only teams to run sub 5 hours running and impressive 4hrs 57!

Scottish Student Athletics Outdoor Championship 2024, Grangemouth, Sat 20 Apr 2024

• Gold Medal winners – Lewis Shaw men’s hammer with a throw of 44:48m; Dawn Russell women’s Javelin with a throw of 47:57 championship record; and Scott Hopper men’s Javelin with a throw of 62:48m championship record and new club record.

Press Release – Renfrewshire News Fri 19 Apr 2024

• “Runners in Renfrewshire are set to benefit from a new running track at the On-X Sports Centre in Linwood after a contract was approved by councillors.

• The £385,000 contract was given the go ahead at a meeting of Renfrewshire Council’s Finance, Resources and Customer Services Policy Board, with works planned to get underway at the beginning of June 2024 and cross the finish line in late-August.

• The installation of a new running track surface will be completed to World Athletics and International Association of Athletics Federations accreditation standard and will benefit runners across Renfrewshire, including Kilbarchan Amateur Athletics Club (KAAC) who are contributing £100,000 towards the project.

• On a dry but bitterly cold night Kilbarchan athletes were out in force, it was also the first competition for our young Trackstar athletes.  In Heat 3 of the 800’s a good start to the season for U17 Alistair Street 1^st 1:58:30 and U20 Oliver Patton 2^nd 1:59:80.  Full results
