NYRR Millrose Games, NYRR Wanamaker Women’s Mile New York, NY, Sat 08 Feb 2020

  • Jemma Reekie sets two more British Records!

“What a night in New York as Jemma Reekie takes down another British Record – with a superb Mile run indoors at the Wannamaker Mile.  Jemma finished third in the race in a time of 4.17.88 and that eclipses the British Record held by Laura Muir at 4.18.75 from last year.  It also takes Jemma to fifth on the world all-time list.

Congratulations to Jemma, her family, coach Andy Young and all at Kilbarchan AAC who were involved in her development over many years.

There is a British Record at 1500m indoors coming her way, too, with a split tonight of 4:00.56.

All this just eight days after that amazing 800m run at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow.”
