Kilbarchan Athletic Club had 2 girls representing Scotland under 16s at the British Home International Hill Races in Dublin last weekend weekend.
Scottish Champion Laura Stark finished 4th in a time of 22.47 and Rona Tytler, in only her 3rd Hill race, was 14th overall and 3rd Scot, in a time of 24.44, helping the Scots to Bronze medals.
It was also a weekend for the ultra runners and local athletes were in action at two different events.
In London, at the Self Trancendence 24hour track race, women filled the first 3 places with Kilbarchan’s Noanie Heffron third, covering the remarkable distance of 132 miles 406 yards. Winner was Fionna Ross (Harmeny AC) who smashed the Scottish record, covering over 144 miles.
John Kynaston competed in the Hardmoors 60 at the weekend, finishing in 15th place, time 11 hours 51 minutes28 seconds. This was the fourth and final race in the Hardmoors Grand Slam series, previous races being over 30, 55 and 110 miles events and the overall result gave John a superb 2nd place.
