Kilbarchan XC Championship, Results
Here are the results from Sunday 9th February 2014 Club Cross Country Championships when 27 club athletes braved the elements for a tough run in the country. Well done to all and to John Rodger and others who set out the course and Jason and Max at the finish line standing shivering taking the results.
The incessant wind and rain that preceded for a good while before the race eased as 2pm approached and everyone was set on there way covering varying distances depending on category.
In the Senior Men’s race six competitors toed the start line but it was Callum Matthews who stormed to victory covering the 3 laps in 31:03, Conor McNulty came home in 2nd place (32:15), just ahead of 3rd place David Mackintosh (32:53).
The Senior Women’s race only featured one hardy soul, Rebbeca Forte-Martin covered 2 laps in 27:11.
Under 17 Men again only had one runner Ewan McKerall came home in 21:19. (2 laps)
Under 15’s Boys and Girls were both two horse races. Conor Thomson was first across the line in 13:15 ahead of Sam McNair (14:05). In the girl’s race Laura Stark (13:32) held off the challenge of Rona Tytler (14:11).
The Under 13’s event was run over 1 lap with six girls competing. Kim Crawford took 1st place in 12:14, ahead of 2nd Eilidh Gibson (12:31) & 3rd Leona Murray (12:35).
Under 11’s featured four girl’s and five boy’s. In the boy’s event Fraser Scott was 1st in 7:03, 2nd Charlie MacFadyen (7:41) & 3rd Finlay Gray (7:48).
In the girl’s event Alyssa Sivell made short work of the course to come home in 6:42 ahead of 2nd place Kimberley Gilchrist (7:07) & 3rd Stella McLean (8:56).
