Scotland teams have been selected for the Virgin Money Giving London Mini Marathon next month.
Two dozen young athletes will compete in the now traditional British Athletics regional team challenge event on the day of the London Marathon – Sunday 13 April.
The Scotland selections were based primarily on the Junior Road Races, which took place at Riccarton on March 16, when those highly placed put themselves firmly into contention for the teams at U15 and U17 level.
Kilbarchan AAC twins Euan and Gwen Gillham are selected and there are four Edinburgh AC athletes picked – Zoe Bates, Joseph Arthur, Josh Kerr and Robert Bough. Giffnock North’s strength at U15 Girls is emphasised with half of the team included via the selections of Erin Wallace, Holly Still and Nikki Miller.
There are 12 clubs represented in all and congratulations to all athletes chosen, their coaches,
families and those involved in their development.
