Track Etiquette

It’s not complicated, but here’s the basics for using the track

  • Run in an anti-clockwise direction
  • Be aware that lane 1 is used frequently and often by faster athletes
  • Be aware of other athletes – if someone shouts “track” move quickly and safely out of the way
  • Please use outside lanes for jogging
  • Check both directions if crossing the track
  • Leave bags and clothes in the stand
  • Don’t use headphones, it essential to be aware of your surroundings
  • No spitting on the track, plenty of grass at the side if you have to
