Volunteers Required!

Renfrewshire Leisure are looking for volunteers for the upcoming athletics camps held at On-X. These camps are for young athletes.


Week 1 9-13th July 10-3pm

Week 2 16th-20th July 10-3pm

Volunteers will be assisting the lead coaches setting up, running warm ups and cool downs and helping some of the younger pupils take part.

Volunteers can do single days or a camp.

  • Registration will open at 5.45pm and will close 30 minutes before the published start time of each event event or at 7.30pm, whichever is earlier. All athletes are required to collect their athlete number before this time.

Please note the revised timetable with Hammer event now starting at 18:00 hours. There will be no access to the back straight during this event.

Andrew Murphy last weekend travelled to the Arona International Combined Events Meeting in Tenerife and was rewarded with a Personal Best result in the Decathlon.

Andrew amassed a total of 7350 points which takes him to the sixth best all-time for a Scot

Well done to Andrew, his family and coach Colin.

British Milers Meet – Scotstoun 1st June 18

Well done to Lewis Hannigan who became the Scottish U17 3000m Champion at the recent BMC Regional Races at Scotstoun. Lewis crossed the line in first place in his heat in a Personal best time of 9.07.09 to take the honours.

A number of other athletes took part in the event with most achieving a Personal Best.

Some other noteable results was a 2.02.62 run for Jemma Reekie in the 800m which is one of the quickest by a Scottish woman in Scotland outdoors over recent years. The last being Lynsey Sharp in the Commonwealth Games at Glasgow 2014.

Rachel Muir also took Jemmas previous 800m U15 club record in a time of 2:15.4

U12 Quad Event Results

The youngest members of the club were out in force this weekend taking part in the Quad event at Ravenscraig Stadium in Greenock.

All athletes had to compete in the 75m sprint, Turbo Javelin, long jump and finishing with a team relay.

We had some fantastic individual performances which resulted in the Boys teams finishing in 1st and 2nd place and the girls in 4th Place.
