Elsie Gibson
It is with sadness that we pass on the news that Elsie Gibson has died after a short illness.
Few of you will have known Elsie but she was THE force, THE founding member of Kilbarchan AAC in 1974.
At that time, Elsie worked at Myles Camping Centre in Paisley and looking for some activity for her boys.
Myles was a member of Paisley Harriers and he suggested trying to reform Kilbarchan Athletic Club……. and the rest is history.
Her husband Jimmy, thought it was a daft idea but later Jimmy joined and became a regular at the Club and then Club Treasurer for many years. Jimmy is an honourary member of the club.
Our thoughts are with Jimmy and his family.
