Kilbarchan Athletic Club had a number of athletes competing in the Scottish Interdistricts Cross Country Championships staged in Edinburgh at the weekend.

Outstanding for the Kilbarchan club, was Jack Patton who won the under 15 boys race, his time 13.51 with clubmate Lewis Hannigan 6th in 14.15. Cameron Wright also had a fine run finishing 2nd in the under 17 boys district race and in the Senior womens race, Elspeth Curran continued her recent good form to finish 4th in 22.49 while in the Mens event, Euan Gillham was 10th.

More locally, the Kilbarchan club staged its annual Donald Crawford Trophy 11 mile handicap race, the winner Andy Cochran with Conor Thomson 2nd and Jennifer Rooney 3rd. Fastest scratch time for the hilly 11 mile circuit, was 62 minutes 49 seconds by Callum Matthews, who finished 8th overall. Next on scratch was Connor Thomson 68.01 with Jennifer Rooney fastest scratch lady at 77.59.
