Conor Thomson won the Kilbarchan Cross Country Championship over a muddy course at Linwood last Saturday and became one of the youngest club members to hold the prestigious Challenge Cup. Conor’s time was 32 minutes 55 seconds, with Ryan Waldron finishing 2nd and Grant Sandilands third.  Jennifer Rooney won a closely contested Women’s race, beating Elaine Eadie, winning time 36.52.

Rona Tytler won the under 17 girls title time 27.04 and  Alisha Sivell won the under 15 girls race in 16.55 ahead of Leona Murray 2nd and Libby Sutherland 3rd while David McNair won the under 15 boys event in 16.16 with Aedan Cairney 2nd.

The under 13 boys winner was Ross Hastie, 2nd Ciaran Parker, 3rd Gabriel  Cairney and the under 13 girl’s winner was Louise Hastie , 2nd Chloe Cameron and 3rd Aurelia Tiffoney. . There was a very close finish in the under 11s race, Oliver Patton beating Ryan Knights by inches with Ramsay McLeod 3rd and Gillian Finnigan won the under 11 girls event ahead of Freya Dougall 2nd and Iona Queen 3rd.

This coming Saturday, the National Cross Country Championships are at Falkirk’s Callendar Park.
