There were some fine performances by Kilbarchan athletes at the Scottish Indoor Athletics Open meeting at the Emirates in Glasgow last weekend, including several personal bests.
Shona Ross improved her Kilbarchan Womens Triple Jump record, her best effort measured at 11.59 metres. Jemma Reekie, who recently set a Scottish under 20s 3000m Indoor record and who competed for the Scottish team in the International cross country relay at Edinburgh the previous weekend, beat her club under 20s 1500 metres record with a time of 4 minutes 21.57 seconds.
Andrew Murphy topped the Shot results with a putt of 12.87m and produced a good High Jump clearance of 1.96m.
The Costellos were on form in the Shot, Andrew 9.82m and Kirsty 9.04m, both personal bests and there were several PBs in the middle distance events, notably Josh Hendry in the 800m timed at 2.08.59 and the 1500m 4.23.05.
After various injury problems, Olympic marathon athlete Derek Hawkins made a return to racing action at the weekend, competing in the Antrim International Cross Country meeting. Derek finished 10th against top competition, an encouraging performance in his progression back to top fitness.
