Callum top 10 in Amsterdam

CALLUM 9th AT EURO CHAMPS: Solid performance this morning by CALLUM HAWKINS to land a top ten finish in the European Half Marathon Cup in Holland.The Kilbarchan AAC athlete was the top Brit as he finished in 63.57 minutes after moving from 13th to ninth over the final 5k.

Splits: 5k 14.26; 10k 29.40; 15k 45.14; 20k 60.40.

Brother Derek Hawkins missed out through injury as a precaution ahead of Rio and unfortunately Tsegai Tewelde was a late call-off due to illness.

Well done to Callum, coach Robert and family and all involved in his development over the years at club level.

Disappointed with today's race got my tactics wrong and went out too quick. Finished strong though. Great lessons learned for Rio. #ECH2016
