Kilbarchan Athletic Club’s  Laura Stark won the Scottish Junior Hill Race Championship at Rowardennan last Saturday. The 16 year old from Kilmacolm was the overall winner of the girls uphill race on Ben Lomond, taking the under 20s title, her time 17 minutes 4 seconds. Kilbarchan clubmate Rona Tytler also medalled, finishing 3rd in the under 20s event while Katie Hall was 5th.  Cameron Corrigan was 4th in the under 17 boys race.

Elsewhere, former Commonwealth marathon star Hayley Haining, made a welcome return to International competition representing Scotland in the Lillebealt ½ marathon in Denmark, where she finished 2nd in 78 minutes 42 seconds, leading Scotland to team Gold .

More locally, Donal Petrie won the Kilbarchan Hill Race Championship at the Whangie Whizz event at Queens View, time 38.57.
