Road Running at Night

Please note the following advice on what to wear when running at night.

BE SEEN

Wear reflective bright clothing, white and yellow are best with the priority being visible to vehicles and other road users (i.e. cyclists).

Also bear in mind you will want to stay warm, the temperature can drop quickly at night so it’s important to keep warm and dry.

What equipment do I need?
At night it is essential to invest in lighting equipment that is suitable for running if you are running on poorly lit roads or on the cycle path. A head torch is recommended to help navigate your way and also to be seen.
If you want to see well, go for a second light that you can attach to your waist.
Seeing is essential, but being seen is also fundamental for your safety, especially if part of your route includes roads.
