Press Release, Fri 1 Aug 2014

The 2 local representatives in the Commonwealth Games Marathon last Sunday, did themselves proud.
Derek Hawkins finished in a fine 9th place, first Scot, in fact 1st Brit, time 2 hours 14 minutes 15 seconds, just outside his best but a very controlled and sensible run in less than perfect conditions.
Hayley Haining was delighted to have the opportunity of representing Scotland again and again it was a fine effort, finishing in 13th place, 2nd Scot, time 2.40.40.

Missing all the action in Glasgow, some local athletes were representing Team Glasgow in the Youth Development League Northern Premier Division at Wakefield in Yorkshire.
Jemma Reekie was a clear winner of the under 17s 1500m in 4.43.06, with Laura Stark winning the B race as well as finishing 3rd in the 800m. Kerry MacAngus was 2nd in the under 20s 800m 2.20,40 and was also 3rd in the 1500m steeplechase.
