scottishathletics are delighted to announce that Steve Fudge will deliver a number of sessions over the weekend of 20/21 September at the Emirates Arena, Glasgow. Topics covered will include block positions, acceleration and high speed mechanics and speed development through the year.
Currently employed by UK Athletics as Institute sprint coach, Steve Fudge is one of the top coaches in the UK.
Fudge has enjoyed early success in his coaching career, guiding the previously injury-plagued James Dasaolu to the European indoor 60m silver medal and a breakthrough 100m time of 9.91 sec, which made him the second fastest British sprinter of all time after Linford Christie. Dasaolu, 26, ran sub-10 sec again in Moscow in August 2013 to reach the world final.
With expanding interests in therapy, nutrition, philosophy, and neuro-science, as well as a background in strength & conditioning and massage, Steve has been able to successfully apply his studies to the science of his sport, where Dasaolu has credited him with transforming him into a sub-10 sprinter after years of injury problems caused by over training.
These sessions will attract coaches working in a club with developing athletes through to event specialist coaches.
