The first meeting of the Youth Development League Northern Premier Division took place at Meadowbank Stadium in Edinburgh last Sunday, with Kilbarchan athletes representing Team Glasgow and making a significant contribution to their 2nd position at the end of the day.

Laura Stark won the 3000m (10.28.59) and Kerry MacAngus was 2nd in the under 17s 1500m as well 3rd in the under 20s steeplechase.

Erin Campbell was 3rd in the under 17s 80m Hurdles and also 4th in the 300m Hurdles while Victoria Cleer won the 80m Hurdles B race in a fast 12.65s. Victoria was also 2nd in the Hammer event, wityh a throw measured at 35.37m.

Also in Edinburgh, Alisha Sivell had a fine run to win the Great Edinburgh Run 11-13 Junior Race, time 9.25 for the 2.5K distance

Nearer home, local athletes dominated the Houston 10K with Ewan McKerral winning overall in a time of 36.27 and Jennifer Rooney first lady to finish, time 42.25.
